The Mungies:

Mike Meyers - 5 for 8: 5 Singles, 2 Strike Outs; 1 RBI. Pitching Line - 4.0IP, 3ER, 3Ks
Billy Halliday - 2 for 3: 2 Singles, 1 Strike Out; 1 RBI.
Billy Halliday substituted for pitcher Mike Meyers for the last 2 1/2 Innings after an abrupt exit. John Mungiello took over for pitching Innings 5-7. Frank Cimillo insertered himnself as pitcher for extra Innings, handing the team a loss.

The Cheetahs:
Brian Legentil - 5 for 11: 4 Singles, 3 Run Homer, 2 Strike Outs, Error; 3 RBIs. Pitching Line - 6.2IP, 8ER, 3Ks
Adam Richardson - 7 for 11: 5 Singles, 1 Double, Walk Off 2 Run Homer, 2 Strike Outs; 3 RBIs.

Jimmy Giannantonio - 5 for 10: 3 Singles, 2 RBI Double, 3 Run Homer, 1 Strike Out; 5 RBIs. Pitching Line - 0.1IP, 0ER, 1K
Brian Legentil was the starting and closing pitcher, temporarily handing the ball over to Jason Moya to pitch the top of the 6th and to Jimmy Giannantonio to face Frank in the top of the 8th. Jimmy Giannantonio's 3 Run Home Run tied the game in the bottom of the 7th while Adam Richardson hit a walk off 2 Run Homer off Frank Cimillo in the bottom of the 8th. Brian Legentil committed an error in the top of the 7th for not being able to peg/tag out baserunner Billy Halliday despite being only 4 inches away from him. Jason Moya's upcoming knee surgery prevented him from completely running out grounders.

Player of the Game: Donnie Hays

Zion Lion:
Jeff Cesarano - 6 for 11: 6 Singles, 1 Sac Fly, 1 Strike Out; 2 RBIs. Pitching Line - 9.0IP, 11ER, 3Ks
Kyle Ax - 4 for 12: 3 Singles, 1 RBI Double, 6 Strike Outs; 3 RBIs.
Frank Cimillo - 5 for 12: 5 Singles, 1 Strike Out.
Donnie Hays - 10 for 12: 6 Singles, 1 Double, 3 Home Runs (3 Run Homer, 2 Solo); 6 RBIs.
Jimmy Giannantonio - 5 for 7: 4 Singles, 3 Run Homer, 1 Strike Out; 5 RBIs.
Jimmy Giannantonio didn't join until the top of the 2nd Inning. Donnie Hays destroyed the ball, making him the easy choice for Player of the Game, so far the best single game performance of the season. Kyle Ax and John Mungiello, sworn enemies, battled with every pitch. Frank Cimillo seems to have learned how to field. Jeff Cesarano pitched a complete game.

Mungy's Cheetahs:
Brian Legentil - 3 for 10: 2 Singles, 1 Grand Slam Homer, 1 Strike Out; 5 RBIs.
Adam Richardson - 4 for 9: 2 Singles, 2 Home Runs (Solo, 2 Run), FC RBI, Error; 4 RBIs.
John Mungiello - 5 for 9: 4 Singles, Solo Home Run, 1 Strike Out; 1 RBI. Pitching Line - 9IP, 16ER, 9Ks
Steve Major - 2 for 9: 2 Singles, FC RBI, 1 Strike Out; 1 RBI.
Jason Moya - 6 for 9: 6 Singles.
Adam Richardson made a colossal error letting a fly ball hit off his hand and over the fence letting Donnie Hays get a 3 Run Homer in the 1st Inning. Brian Legentil hit a Grand Slam in the 3rd inning to take Mungy's Cheetahs within 2. Steve Major kept running into bad luck, being on the end of a few Web Gems by none other than Frank Cimillo. John Mungiello pitched a complete game and also hit a solo shot in the bottom 9th, but it just wasn't enough to get them the victory.

WP: John Mungiello (1-1)

Player of the Game: Adam Richardson

Zion Lion:
Angelo Santaniello - 4 for 10: 4 Singles, 2 Strike Outs.
Anthony Romeo - 3 for 10: 3 Singles. Pitching Line - 1.0IP, 0ER, 0Ks
Jeff Cesarano - 6 for 9: 5 Singles, 2 Run Homer; 2 RBIs. Pitching Line - 7.0IP, 2ER, 2Ks
Don Livio - 4 for 9: 4 Singles; 1 RBI. Pitching Line - 0.0IP, 2ER, 0Ks
Dan Rayner - 2 for 6: 2 Singles, 2 Strike Outs.
Jeff Cesarano was Zion Lion's biggest force of both sides of the plate, pitching a gem and hitting a 2 Run Homer in the top of the 9th to give Zion Lion the lead. Sadly, Don Livio blew his save opprotunity in the 9th. Dan Rayner didn't join the game until the 2nd Inning and went 2 for 6, much better than expected.

Mungy's Cheetahs:
Brian Legentil - 2 for 9: 2 Singles, 1 Strike Out; 1 RBI.
Adam Richardson - 5 for 9: 4 Singles, 1 Double; 2 RBIs.
John Mungiello - 5 for 8: 5 Singles. Pitching Line - 9IP, 3ER, 4Ks
Steve Major - 3 for 8: 2 Singles, Solo Home Run; 1 RBI
Frank Cimillo - 3 for 7: 3 Singles.
Adam Richardson gave the team a lead early by getting an RBI Double in the 1st Inning. After Brian Legentil hit the game typing Single in the bottom of the 9th, Adam came through again with a walk off Single for the win. John Mungiello's pitching was golden. His only mistake was giving up a 2 Run Homer to Jeff, the pitcher he was dueling with, though he got the better of Jeff in the end. Steve Major is rolling out of his slump, cranking out his first Home Run of the year.

Mungy's Cheetahs:

Adam Richardson - 2 for 10: 2 Singles, 2 Strike Outs.
John Mungiello - 3 for 10: 3 Singles, 3 Strike Outs; 1 RBI. Pitching Line - 10IP, 1ER, 10Ks
Steve Major - 5 for 10: 5 Singles.
Frank Cimillo - 3 for 10: 3 Singles, 2 Strike Outs.
This was John Mungiello's game. Not only did he pitch 10 Innings and give up only one Run (unheard of in Wiffle Ball) but he helped his own cause by hitting the go ahead RBI Single in the top of the 10th. Brian Legentil had a good game as well going 7 for 10 including getting the RBI Single that broke open the 0-0 tie in the 8th. Frank Cimillo continues his baffling defensive rennissance with a few Web Gems and quick thinking DPs.

Zion Lion:
Angelo Santaniello - 1 for 9: 1 Single, 4 Strike Outs. Pitching Line - 2.0IP, 1ER, 2Ks
Anthony Romeo - 5 for 9: 5 Singles, 1 Strike Out. Pitching Line - 1.0IP, 1ER, 0Ks
Jeff Cesarano - 2 for 9: 2 Singles, 1 Strike Out. Pitching Line - 7.0IP, 0ER, 5Ks
Don Livio - 1 for 3: 1 Single.
Dan Rayner - 1 for 8: 1 Single, 4 Strike Outs.
Mike Meyers - 2 for 4: 2 Singles; 1 RBI.
Don Livio left the game after 4 Innings and was replaced by Mike Meyers. In the long run it worked out as Mike drove in the only run Zion Lion could muster up. Jeff Cesarano pitched another sparkler giving up no runs through 7 but the bullpen could not hold on as Romeo and Angelo gave up a run each.

Angelo Santaniello - 2 for 6: 2 Singles, 1 Strike Out.
Jeff Cesarano - 4 for 6: 4 Singles, 2 Strike Outs. Pitching Line - 3.0IP, 2ER, 2Ks
Anthony Romeo - 1 for 5: 1 Single. Pitching Line - 2.0IP, 0ER, 0Ks
Yet another low scoring game for both teams in this triple header. Captain Cesarano retooled the line up and bizzarley the only man to get an RBI this game was Dan Rayner on a Sac Fly. Jeff also mix and matched his pitchers, having Mike Meyers pitch the 1st Inning, Romeo pitch the 3rd and 4th while he himself took the 2nd, 5th, and 6th. Mike Meyers hit a controversial fly ball near the foul pole that was ruled a foul. The game was 7 Innings due to darkness and that Mike Meyers needed to get pussy.

Mungy's Cheetahs:
Brian Legentil - 2 for 6: 2 Singles, 1 Strike Out.
Adam Richardson - 2 for 5: 2 Singles, 1 Sac Fly; 1 RBI.
John Mungiello - 2 for 6: 2 Singles. Pitching Line - 7IP, 1ER, 7Ks
Steve Major - 2 for 6: 1 Single, Solo Home Run, FC RBI, 1 Strike Out; 2 RBIs.
Frank Cimillo - 3 for 5: 3 Singles.
John Mungiello continued his hot pitching only giving up 1 Run in 7 Innings. Steve Major got 2 of the team's 3 RBIs with a FC RBI and Solo Homer. That Home Run was also fairly controversial but was indeed ruled a Home Run, probably because Mungy's Cheetahs are better at arguing.

Adam Richardson - 7 for 13: 5 Singles, 2 Home Runs (Both 2 Run Shots); 6 RBIs. Pitching Line - 2IP, 3ER, 2Ks
John Mungiello - 8 for 12: 6 Singles, 2 Doubles, Sac Fly, FC RBI; 3 RBIs. Pitching Line - 7IP, 9ER, 3Ks
Steve Major - 4 for 12: 3 Singles, 1 Double, Sac Fly; 3 RBIs.
First and foremost, the game was played "away" in a makeshift field (is there any other kind for Wiffle Ball?) next to West Brook Middle School. Also, Brian made a gargantuan (mental) error by scoring Mungy's Cheetahs with 2 runs in the 8th instead of their rightful 3. If Zion Lion tied at the then-thought-of-score in the 9th, it would of course had been honored. At least he batted .500 for the day, going 7 for 14 with one of the longer Home Runs of the day that knocked out Jeff Cesarano in the 7th. Yes, the runs were being hit by both teams at a much more normal Wiffle Ball clip compared to the Triple Header. Adam had the team's other two homers, collecting a total of 6 RBIs, the most of anyone that day, cruising his way to his second Player of the Game award this season. John Mungiello and Steve Major both played very heads up baseball on the base paths, hitting a combined 3 Doubles and legged it out from 1st to 3rd on Singles a handful of times. They also played exemplary small ball, getting a Sac Fly each. Steve also had some notable Web Gems.

Zion Lion:
Angelo Santaniello - 9 for 14: 9 Singles, Sac Fly, 1 Strike Out; 3RBIs.
Don Livio - 7 for 14: 5 Singles, 2 Home Runs (3 Run Shot, 2 Run Shot), 1 Strike Out; 5 RBIs.
Kyle Ax - 8 for 13: 6 Singles, 1 Double, Solo Home Runs, 2 Strike Outs; 2 RBIs. Pitching Line - 2.2IP, 4ER, 1K
Jeff Cesarano - 4 for 13: 4 Singles, 1 Strike Out; 2 RBIs. Pitching Line - 6.1IP, 13ER, 0Ks
Angelo Santaniello smashed 9 hits, the most of anyone for either team. He also had the most memorable hit of the game, leading off the bottom of the 1st Inning, hitting a towering fly ball that landed on the top of the Green Monster-esque fence in left and the ball came back in the field. Don Livio clobbered 2 Home Runs, probably taking Zion Lion's Player of the Game award had they pulled off the victory. He also made a serious Web Gem catching a pop up that bounced off Jeff Cesarano. Kyle Ax upped his average and struck out much less than he did in the previous game. Ax got 8 hits including a Double and Home Run. Jeff wasn't his usual self on the mound or on the plate, starting the game with a disappointing 0 for 5 but then going 4 for 8. Zion Lion made a run for the tie in the 9th inning, stringing together many singles, but with runners on first and second with two outs Don struck out in an epic battle with Adam Richardson, in for relief.

Don Livio - 9 for 12: 8 Singles, 1 Grand Slam Homer, 2 Sac Flies, 1 Strike Out; 7 RBIs. Pitching Line - 1.0IP, 2ER, 1K
At another game by West Brook Middle School, Zion Lion suffered another defeat. Perhaps if they listened to the old man with orange teeth and convinced Mungy's Cheetahs to play with a cut-in-half Spalding and broom stick, they could have taken the victory. Kyle Ax had an admirable day at the plate, but almost committed an error by failing to peg Brian despite being 5 inches away from him... he did make it up however by pegging Steve who was getting greedy on the basepaths that same play. Kyle also notably pegged Brian in the head of his penis, and let Adam get a Single instead of an FC by forcing himself into a routine play and failing, going back to getting an E. Jeff Cesarano faulted terribly on the mound, starting the game by giving up 12 runs in 1.1 Innings. Don Livio killed it offensively, hitting a Grand Slam and getting 7 RBIs, though while he made some Web Gems, repsect points were lost for sitting on 2nd base most of the game while in the field.

Mungy's Cheetahs:
Adam Richardson - 10 for 14: 5 Singles, 5 Home Runs (Grand Slam, Two 3 Run Shots, 2 Run Shot, Solo), 1 Strike Out; 13 RBIs. Pitching Line - 2IP, 0ER, 1K
Brian Legentil - 10 for 14: 10 Singles, 1 Stike Out.
Steve Major - 9 for 14: 8 Singles, 2 Run Homer; 4 RBIs.
Andrew Caufield - 6 for 14: 4 Singles, 2 Doubles, 2 Strike Outs; 3 RBIs. Pitching Line - 7IP, 17ER, 5Ks
Adam insisted on leading off today's game and what a difference! He clobbered 5(!!) Home Runs, and actually hit all four kinds of Home Run. Adam also pitched two scoreless innings, the 5th and the 6th. He had to submit a drug test after the game. Steve Major also hit his 3rd Home Run of the season, tying the League Lead for 2nd place. Andrew Caufield made his season debut by hitting the first RBI of the game for Mungy's Cheetahs and getting the W on the mound for the absent John Mungiello.

Steve Major - 6 for 12: 5 Singles, 3 Run Homer; 4 RBIs.
Another game at West Brook Middle School and possibly the most intense game of the season down the stretch. Brian and Adam were average but John Mungiello killied it hitting 3 RBIs and keeping them in the game on the mound. Steve Major not only hit the only Home Run of the game, and not only hit the game winning 3 Run Homer in the top of the 9th, but also had the most RBIs of anyone on each team.

Zion Lion:
Mike McCue - 6 for 13: 6 Singles, 1 Strike Out; 2 RBIs.
Angelo Santaniello - 4 for 12: 4 Singles, 2 Strike Outs; 2RBIs. Pitching Line - 2.0IP, 3ER, 0Ks

Jeff Cesarano - 8 for 12: 8 Singles, Ground Out RBI, 1 Strike Out; 3 RBIs. Pitching Line - 7.0IP, 6ER, 2Ks
Zion Lion only scored 1 Run in the first 6 Innings but boy did they come back at the end! Mike McCue, making his season debut was a rare lefty, still hit the ball to center most of the time, making the medicore 1B/RF fielder Brian Legentil happy. Kyle Ax used his magical legs today, legging out a Double on Mungy's Cheetahs sleeping outfielders and scoring from 2nd on a Single by Jeff to start a rally in the Eighth. ZL came within 1 in the 9th with runners on 1st and 2nd with 2 Outs but McCue hit into a FC to end the ballgame.

Kyle Ax - 11 for 19: 11 Singles, FC RBI, 1 Strike Out; 2 RBIs.
Jeff Cesarano - 9 for 18: 9 Singles, FC RBI, 1 Strike Out; 2 RBIs.
Wow what a ball game! Probably the most intense game from start to finish, it all came down to a season high 12th innings. Angelo and Brian, now sworn enemies, battled on the mound, their hearts going a million MPH with every pitch. In the batter's box, Jeff Cesarano choked a handful of times, not being able to come up big like Mike McCue was, getting essential RBI Singles late in the game. ZL were not hitting for power but strung together many singles, best shown in the 7th Inning when they scored 5 Runs to tie it. Again, Kyle Ax's luscious legs generated a few runs that wouldn't have been made by a lesser man. Kyle was also their main man in the field, brilliantly putting together a triple play which wasn't counted for some reason... we probably need an infield fly rule now.

Mungy's Cheetahs:
Brian Legentil - 7 for 17: 6 Singles, 3 Run Homer; 3 RBIs. Pitching Line - 10IP, 9ER, 6Ks
Adam Richardson - 11 for 17: 9 Singles, 1 Double, Solo Home Run; 2 RBIs. Pitching Line - 2IP, 0ER, 2Ks
John Mungiello - 7 for 17: 7 Singles, 1 Strike Out.
Steve Major - 7 for 17: 4 Singles, 1 Double, Two 2 Run Homers, 1 Strike Out; 5 RBIs.
Brian Legentil started the game going 0 for 6 but redeemed himself by hitting a 3 Run Homer. It was controversial, and in hindsight we should probably play with all the bases a yard to the left so the end of the Tennis court is the foul pole. Brian also did a good job on the mound getting out of some extra inning jams, keeping ZL off the board after the 8th. Adam Richardson tied with Kyle for the most hits in a single game with 11 and made at least a half dozen clutch diving grabs, but was painfully hotdogging it on the base paths. John Mungiello on the other hand slid hard into 2nd base twice to try and avoid FCs for Steve and Brian but to no avail. A+ for effort. Speaking of Steve Major, he got his second consecutive Player of the Game award for not only clubbing two 2 Run Homers but hit the walk off single in the bottom of the 12th for the win. Truth be told it was a dribbler but that's all you need in Wiffe Ball, especially with Brian Legentil running in hard from 3rd. Chillingly like the modern New York Yankees, 80% of MC's RBIs were off Home Runs.

Their first win since Game 2, ZL showed heart and teamwork - was it a coincidence that their designated captain Jeff Cesarano was absent from the team and had the delicious Steve Major as a substitute? Speaking of Steve Major, he was a borderline Player of the Game, knocking a clutch 2 RBI Double in the Second Inning to give ZL and early lead (they never looked back) and was one hit shy of tying Adam Richardson and Kyle Ax’s single game hit record of 11 hits. But Angelo, being nothing short of the Greg Maddux of Wiffle Ball wins the award, giving up only a paltry 5 Runs in 9 innings... and knocking in 3 Runs at the plate! Not too shabby! Kyle and McCue were their usual selves, hitting around .500 for the game and showing smart base running, the former made the web gems and is in serious running for a LF/3B Gold Glove.

The Cheetahs:
Brian Legentil - 8 for 13: 8 Singles, 1 Strike Out; 2 RBIs.
Adam Richardson - 6 for 13: 6 Singles. Pitching Line - 3IP, 7ER, 3Ks
Jesse Richardson - 8 for 12: 6 Singles, 1 Double, 2 Run Homer, 1 Strike Out; 2 RBIs.
Greg Dorfman - 0 for 12: FC RBI, 3 Strike Outs; 1 RBI. Pitching Line - 6IP, 5ER, 3Ks
Hey, wha happened? A promising team just didn’t produce. Jesse Richardson dazzled in his debut however, a triple away from the cycle, and showed above average fielding despite his insistence on wearing jeans. Greg Dorfman kept The Cheetahs in the game, keeping them within 4 through the 6th but Adam inexplicably inserted himself as pitching, dooming The Cheetahs any chance of winning. Brian Legentil's baserunning blunder ended the game early when Jesse Richardson was due up with runners at the corners and two out - Brian thought Adam's fly out was out #3.
